Venues Included On The Tour of England

England has a long and varied history.  The venues we visit will take us through time from its ancient past to current day.  Listed below are the venues included in the Ireland & England tour for 2023

Stonehenge

Uncover the story of Stonehenge. Take in the unforgettable atmosphere of this World Heritage Site and best-known prehistoric monument in Europe, visit our world-class exhibition to discover how the Stonehenge builders worked, and walk amongst the Neolithic houses to experience how they lived.

Salsbury Cathedral

The present iteration of Salisbury Cathedral was completed in just 38 years, from 1220 to 1258. It is without question one of the nation’s most iconic medieval buildings. In total, the cathedral was built with 70,000 tons of stone, 3,000 tons of timber and 450 tons of lead.  We will take the Tower Tour Winding your way up narrow spiral staircases climbing 332 steps in easy stages into our ancient roof to the foot of our iconic spire.

Old Surum Hill Fort

Old Sarum is a remarkable place that rises above the Wiltshire countryside on the edge of Salisbury Plain. It served the ancient Britons, the Romans, the Anglo Saxons, the Normans, the Church, and finally the crooked politicians of the early 18th century. And all because an unknown tribe in about 400 B.C. decided to build a really big hill.
